healthy pumpkin smoothie

Hey, what’s up!

I’m looking forward to having a relaxing weekend and I hope you get some down time too.

Sorry for getting this recipe out a day late.  I had a pretty busy Friday and I still haven’t found a way to get more than 24 hours out of a day, but I’ll let you know if I ever do.

Staying with the theme of seasonal flavors I wanted to send you a twist on a stable for any fat loss nutrition plan, the protein smoothie.

As you know, smoothies are good for any meal any time, but this one is quite a bit different.  Let’s take a look at the Protein Packed Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

Makes: 1-2 servings

Prep Time: 3-5 minutes

Blend Time: about 30 seconds

1/2 cup Canned Pumpkin
1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
2 tbsp Pecans, Walnuts, or Almonds
1/2 cup low-fat Cottage Cheese
1-2 scoops of your favorite Vanilla Protein Powder (I use Optimum Nutrition All Natural Casein Vanilla Protein Powder)
3/4 cup COLD water (a little more or less, depending on the thickness you prefer-but regardless of thickness preference, MAKE SURE THE WATER IS COLD!).

Blend, pour into a glass, and enjoy a (seemingly) sinful taste of dessert!

There you go.  It is just that easy to enjoy a tasty and seasonal treat without all the sugar that most smoothies contain.

Let me know what you think!  Have a great weekend.
